Congratulations to Eli Suddeth on being named our Class of 2026 STAR Student and congratulations to Mr. Chris Shields on being named our STAR Teacher! 

Eli earned the honor of STAR Student by earning the highest SAT score in one sitting from the fall administration dates.  With earning the honor of being our STAR Student, Eli was able to name a STAR Teacher and he proudly selected Mr. Chris Shields of the Science Department.

When asked why he chose Mr. Shields, Eli stated "Mr. Shields is an amazing teacher and an amazing person. He encouraged me to take a deeper look into every topic we had and was always there to provide assistance and answer questions. He makes learning fun, and as long as people pay attention in class, his courses are always manageable. 

Mr. Shields has this to say about Eli...

"Since arriving at Sprayberry, Eli has been one of the brightest young men I have seen. He is clearly one of those that are best a modeling math and understanding complex situations and asking questions that really push teachers to understand what their saying and to think about what would happen if things were a little bit different.  In Honors Physics, he was top of the class and in AP Physics he was the brightest in the class and absolutely one of those that I expect to rock out the AP exam.  He is a brilliant young man and I hope going forward he is able to continue to display that brilliance."

Eli is currently weighing his options as to where he will continue his education after graduation and meanwhile enjoying his final semester at Sprayberry!
