Four Cobb Schools Earn STEAM/STEM Certifications

November 14, 2025 — Within Cobb Schools, there are plenty of opportunities for students to excel in science, technology, engineering, math, and arts, better known as STEM and STEAM.
In fact, the District recently recognized four new schools for earning STEAM/STEM certifications, showcasing schools that provide students with STEM/STEAM-enriched learning opportunities. These schools are dedicated to helping students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for future success in college and career fields related to STEM and STEAM.
Cobb STEAM Certification – South Cobb Early Learning Center and Ford Elementary School
Cobb STEM Certification – Betty Gray Middle School and Walton High School.
"In Pre-K, the journey to STEAM certification has been a team effort filled with curiosity, creativity, and a lot of joyful messes! Our teachers, students, and families all worked together to make learning hands-on and meaningful — whether we were building, exploring, experimenting, or creating art," said South Cobb Early Learning Center Director Marilyn Thomas.
The most recent STEAM/STEM addition to a long list of Cobb Schools–more than 50–that already hold the praiseworthy recognition.
Cobb’s STEM and STEAM success, which can be seen across Cobb, recently came to life during Tritt Elementary’s Girl-Powered Robotics Day hosted by Tritt Elementary School, another Cobb STEM and STEAM certified school.
