Student-Parent Commencement Information Packet - May 2025

Graduation Contract:

Below is the Graduation Contract that all graduating seniors must complete in order to participate in our commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 22, 2025. The deadline for this to be completed is Friday, April 18, 2025.

Important Dates:

• Graduation Information Form:
  • Complete on the Student Portal, by Friday, November 22, 2024
• ATLGrad / Herff Jones Order Deadline: Friday, March 28 (*For Seniors to receive their items on Wednesday, April 16, prior to the Senior Picnic)
  • Packages can be ordered after this date, but prices increase after this date. All items need to be ordered before April 30, 2025. 
  • Cap & Gown, graduation announcements, and more can be ordered through Herff Jones. 
• Graduation Ticket Request:
  • December 2024 Graduates:
    • Students graduating in December 2024 can begin requesting their Commencement tickets now, via the Student Portal. 
    • The deadline for December graduates to request tickets is Wednesday, December 4, 2024. 
    • If you do not request tickets, the maximum number of tickets that a student will receive is two (2). 
  • May 2025 Graduates:
    • Students graduating in May 2025 can begin requesting their Commencement tickets now, via the Student Portal. 
    • The deadline for May 2025 graduates to request tickets is Friday, February 28, 2025. Requests can be updated anytime before Friday, February 28.
    • If you do not request tickets, the maximum number of tickets that a student will receive is two (2).
  • The Cobb County School District will inform students, parents, and the school after February 28 of the actual number of tickets that will be granted to each graduate.

  • Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Cobb Energy Center
• Yearbook Day/Senior Picnic: 
  • Wednesday, April 16, 2025
• Graduation ContractDue Date:

• Senior Final Exams:
  • Friday, May 9, 2025: Senior Exemption Day
  • Monday, May 12, 2025: 5th, 6th, and 7th Period Final Exams

  • Wednesday, May 14, 2025: 1st and 2nd Period Final Exams
• Senior Clearance: 
  • All courses completed and all financial obligations must be cleared (including returning textbooks, district-issued laptops, uniforms returned, parking fines paid) by Friday, May 16, 2025.
• Senior Walks - At Elementary Schools: (*Updated 3/27/2025)
  • East Side Elementary: Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:15 AM
    • Check In between 8:00 - 8:10 AM. 
    • Registration Required - Click Here to Register
    • Wear cap & gown
    • Please note, this is an alumni senior only event. Parents are welcome to line the bus port if they would like to watch their senior walk. 
  • Kincaid Elementary: Friday, May 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM
    • Seniors should park in the top parking lot and then walk to the Learning Commons.
    • This is for students only, no parents please.
    • The stroll will begin promptly at 9:00 AM
    • Please do NOT wear or bring your cap & gown. We do not want pieces getting lost or dirty. Please wear casual dress, such as college or post-high school occupation shirt.
  • Mount Bethel Elementary: Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:15 AM
    • Meet in Cafeteria at 8:00 AM
    • Wear cap & gown
    • Families are welcome to watch the walk.
    • Parking is limited. Carpool is recommended.
    • Photo opportunity to follow in the Cafe!
    • All visitors will need to leave the building by 9:00 AM.
  • Murdock Elementary: Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:15 AM
    • Please arrive at Murdock by 8:15 AM. 
    • Parking is limited next to the gym. Please carpool.
    • We encourage you to wear your cap & gown. 
    • Parents are welcome.
    • Picture and light refreshments on the playground to conclude the walk.
  • Sope Creek Elementary: Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:15 AM
    • Arrival at 8:15 AM
    • Senior walk at 8:30 AM
    • Reception in the Cafe from 8:50 AM - 9:15 AM
  • Timber Ridge Elementary: Monday, May 19, 2025, at 8:15 AM
    • After 7:50 AM, gather on blacktop (near bus entrance).
    • PTA and Staff will come out to greet you for a group photo and the walk.
    • Wear cap & gown
    • Parents are invited!

Purchasing a Yearbook

PERSONALIZE your student's yearbook with his/her name and get the best deal by purchasing early! Last year, we SOLD OUT of yearbooks before distribution day! You can buy yearbooks by following this link, or VISIT YEARBOOKORDERCENTER.COM AND USE ORDER NUMBER 26620.

Tributes

The order form for tributes is available now on the Varsity Yearbooks website. VISIT YEARBOOKORDERCENTER.COM AND USE ORDER NUMBER 26620. The forms, pictures, and checks for tributes will not be accepted at Walton. You can create and pay for your tribute online. The final deadline for tribute ads is October 31, 2025 at 11:59pm. 

Senior Pictures

Seniors may submit a formal, casual, and baby picture for the yearbook.  Please follow the steps outlined below to make sure your pictures are included in the book. Formal, casual, and baby photos are due by November 21st. This is a hard deadline. You will not be included in the book if you do not submit photos by November 21st.

Formal

Photos may be submitted either by the student using a private photographer or by using Walton’s official school photographer, CADY. They must be professional photos to be included in the formal section. We prefer that you use CADY for the formal picture. Using Cady is the only way your photo will be changed in ParentVue/StudentVue, and it is the only way you will get a student ID. If you use CADY, the cost for the simple session (basic package) is $29 to Cady when you book your session to take the formal for the yearbook. If you want the basic package, do not select any of the extra options. You do not have to purchase pictures for CADY to submit the yearbook photo to me, and you can still use your private photographer for your own photos if you wish. If you use a private photographer, please ask the photographer to submit the picture to the yearbook by uploading the picture directly to the website given below. To be included in the formal section, pictures must be taken in the traditional drape or tux/suit with a blue background.

Casual

You may choose to have casual pictures taken by a photographer of your choice or CADY. However, you do not have to use a professional photo for your casual photo. I would recommend not choosing a full body shot. Due to the size of the picture in the yearbook, it will be hard to really see your senior’s face. Only submit one photo. Please turn in the picture directly to Walton via the methods described below.

Baby Pictures

Baby pictures should be uploaded directly to the yearbook using the instructions below. The baby picture will NOT be included in the yearbook if the student does not also submit a casual picture.

Submitting Photos

Go https://www.hjeshare.com/ and enter code 26620. You will then be able to upload your student’s formal, casual, and baby pictures by clicking on upload portrait. Please only submit one photo for each category.  You do not need to upload any pictures from CADY. They will send them directly to us. Only upload photos if you do not want to use the CADY photo. Pictures cannot be accepted via email.
