Walton High School has established one of Georgia's premier athletic traditions, offering 26 varsity sports while capturing 91 GHSA State Championships and 301 Region Championships over the past 50 years. Walton has also claimed the prestigious GADA Director's Cup—awarded annually to the state's top overall athletic program in each classification—11 times since its inception, earning titles in 2000, 2002, 2007–2009, 2013, 2014, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2025. During the 2025–26 school year alone, 24 varsity teams qualified for the state playoffs, 23 advanced beyond the first round, 17 finished among Georgia's top 10, and 35 senior student-athletes signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Walton's success spans nearly every sport, highlighted by recent state championships in Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Baseball, along with individual state titles in Wrestling and Girls Discus. The Raiders boast nationally recognized programs, including Girls Tennis, which owns 23 state championships and Georgia's longest winning streak in any sport (158 consecutive wins), and Volleyball, which has won 16 state titles and was once ranked No. 1 nationally. Additional championship programs include Boys and Girls Swim & Dive, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Boys and Girls Soccer, Baseball, Competition Cheer, Track & Field, Cross Country, Tennis, Softball, and more, reflecting Walton's tradition of excellence across athletics.
Football Media Request 2026
Media Requests must be received at least 48 hours before the game. Approval or denial will be shared 24 hours before the game. Approved Media should enter through the pass gate and receive a wristband that must be worn and visible at all times on the field. Media will remain from the backline of the endzone to the 20-yard line on the end opposite the scoreboard. There is no pregame or in-game interaction with players and coaches. All media will stay behind the black line off the sideline giving officials room to work. Any interference with players, coaches or officials may be cause for removal and revocation of future media passes. LINK HERE

Online Athletic Registration
Online Athletic Registration for the upcoming school year opens on April 1st. Students who wish to participate in high school athletics should complete the registration which can be accessed through Parent Vue (grades 8-12).
Clear Bag Policy for Athletic Events at Walton:
This year we will be starting a clear bag policy at all athletic events. Clear bags are expected at all sporting events, but they will be REQUIRED for football and basketball games. Clear bags will increase the safety our athletic participants and fans. Clear bags will help improve our efficiency with the Evolv Weapons Detection systems required at all football and basketball competitions.
