Walton Leads Cobb in SAT Scores, Tops State and National Averages

October 7, 2026 — Walton High School’s Class of 2026 earned an average SAT score of 1255, placing students an astounding 224 points above Georgia’s average and 244 points above the national average. Walton was one of eight Cobb high schools with averages exceeding 1100, and one of only two above 1200.
Walton posted the highest average SAT score of any Cobb high school. Finishing 139 points above Cobb’s district average of 1116 gives the school community another reason to celebrate.
Georgia’s average was 1031, while the national average was 1011, out of a possible 1600 points. Walton's performance finished well above all three comparison averages—district, state, and national.
Walton students averaged 626 in evidence-based reading and writing and 629 in math, outperforming Georgia public-school averages by 101 points in reading and writing and 123 points in math, while topping the national public-school averages by 111 and 133 points, respectively.
The success doesn't stop there. Walton's SAT average also topped the broader state and national averages for all students, including those from both public and private schools.
SAT scores can support college applications and scholarships. For students planning those next steps, the results represent one part of the academic preparation they carry with them after graduation.
Congratulations to Walton graduates and the teachers, counselors, and families who helped prepare them for opportunities beyond high school.
