August 26, 2026 — Walton High School ranks No. 11 among public high schools in Georgia for 2026-27, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. That makes Walton the highest-ranked Cobb high school on the list. Walton is one of 11 Cobb Schools ranked in the top 100 high schools in Georgia.

Among metro Atlanta schools, Walton moves up to No. 8.

These rankings are calculated based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, college curriculum breadth, and performance among underserved students.  

Not only has Walton proven to be one of the top schools in the state, but Walton’s recognition extends well beyond Georgia.

That national ranking lists Walton as the 77th-best charter school in the country and the 72nd-best STEM High School in the nation. 

Overall, among more than 27,000 public high schools across the country, Walton ranks No. 375. That places Walton in the top 1.4% of public high schools nationwide. 

The latest state and national rankings build on Walton’s strong academic record, with recent Georgia Milestones results showing that more than 90% of students met or exceeded expectations in every subject tested—another example of the high level of achievement families can expect at Walton.
