Track Ribbon Cutting

Clarkdale's Walking Track was dedicated on September 7, 2023 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Third grade student, Nathan B., began the ceremony with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. Clarkdale Principal, Dwan Jones, shared remarks. It was Dr. Liss Maynard's vision to build a track to encourage healthy lifestyles for our students, faculty, and community.
Fifth grade student, Caitlyn C. and Annette Castleberry (Instructional Specialist) also gave inspiring speeches. In their absence, Ieshia Wilkerson (Instructional Specialist) expressed the thoughts of Michael Cappucci and Lorna Holt (Clarkdale Assistant Principals). Plaques were presented to our partners in this endeavor: PKS Paving, James Rawls (Cooper Middle School Principal), Dr. Liss Maynard (Assistant Superintendent represented by Shea Thomas), and Ollie Clemons (Mayor of Austell).
Dwan Jones and Shea Thomas (Assistant Superintendent) cut the ribbon to dedicate Clarkdale's Walking Track.
