Thank you for your interest in Cobb Horizon High School.  

We are still taking applications for a Quarter 3 start.  The last day to enroll for Quarter 3 is January 22nd.  All applications received after January 16th will be processed for a Quarter 4 start on March 11.


ENROLLMENT VIA APPLICATION (ELECTS):

1.    Students may apply to attend Cobb Horizon High School instead of their designated district high school if they are in need of a different path to obtain enough credits to earn a high school diploma.  Complete our online application by clicking HERE.


2.    To be considered for enrollment, a student must:

a.    Be eligible to attend a Cobb County School District high school;

b.    Be at least 16 years of age;

c.    Have earned a minimum of five (5) credits;

d.    Have reliable transportation to and from school daily (Session 1 or 3); Session 2 w/bus transportation is limited;

e.    Attend an informational session prior to enrollment.


3.    Applications/Admissions:

a.    Applications to Cobb Horizon High School will be reviewed by the admissions committee and applicants will be notified of their acceptance status.

b.    Priority will be given to students who are closest to meeting graduation requirements.

c.    Students are not guaranteed admission based solely on submission of application.

ENROLLMENT VIA DIRECT REFERRAL:

1.    Student new to Cobb or current Cobb Student enrolling in a different Cobb High School than most recently attended.

2.    Local school evaluates transcript and Students who are determined to be two years or more behind their 9th grade enrollment class will be considered for placement at Cobb Horizon.

a.    3rd year high school student with fewer than 5 total credits

b.    4th year high school student with fewer than 10 total credits

c.    5th year high school student with fewer than 16 total credits

4.    Student Records

a. If the local school has a complete set of records, including Transcript, Discipline, Attendance, IEP/504 if applicable, then reach out to Karen Hidalgo (Karen.Hidalgo@cobbk12.org) immediately to alert her of the possible direct referral and send her the records.  The enrollment team will process the application immediately.

b. If the local school does not have a complete set of records, enroll the student at local school.  Once all records have been received, reach out to Karen Hidalgo (Karen.Hidalgo@cobbk12.org) and send her the records and the enrollment team will process the application immediately.

5.    Applications to Cobb Horizon High School will be reviewed by the admissions committee and applicants will be notified of their acceptance status. 

6.    Student and enrolling adult must attend an informational session prior to enrollment.
