How Much Does a CVA Course Cost?
Just like classes taken at the local school during the school year, there is no charge for courses taken as part of a CCSD student’s regular school day (state-funded school schedule).
Courses taken in addition to the regular school day and all summer term courses are tuition courses. Tuition depends on whether the student is taking a half-credit or full-credit CVA course. Payment information is sent after the course request has been approved.
Tuition Rates
Half-Credit Course
$275
For one half-credit CVA course (A or B). Rate for non-CCSD students is $300.
Full-Credit Course
$550
For one full-credit CVA course (Y). Rate for non-CCSD students is $600.
How Payment Works
Step 1: Course Request Approval
Payment is not collected at the time of registration. A payment email is sent after the CVA course request has been approved.
Step 2: Payment Email
A payment email will be sent to both the parent and the student. The email will include a personalized payment link for the approved course request.
Step 3: Submit Payment
Cobb Virtual Academy accepts payment by money order, credit card, or electronic funds transfer (electronic check). We do not accept cash or personal checks.
Credit Card and Electronic Funds Transfer
Credit card/electronic funds payment information is included in the CVA Course Approved: Tuition email sent to parents and students after the local school counselor verifies the student’s schedule and courses. The credit card/electronic funds transfer payment option includes a $15 non-refundable enrollment convenience fee (paid to the credit card processor, FACTS) in addition to the tuition fee. The credit card or bank statement payments will appear as “Facts Tuition payment” or “ACS Tuition payment”. FACTS is not integrated with the CVA registration system. If this is your first time taking a CVA tuition course, you must set up an account with FACTS.
Money Order Payments
Money orders should be made payable to Cobb County School District and must be sent to Cobb Virtual Academy, 1765 The Exchange, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30339.
Payment must be received on time to keep the course registration active.
Payment must be received within 5 calendar days of receiving the CVA Course Approved: Tuition email or by the end of online registration, whichever comes first. If appropriate payment is not received by the deadline, course registrations may be canceled to accommodate other students.
