Registering for a CVA Course
Ready to take a Cobb Virtual Academy course? Start here. Use this page to gather the information you need, understand what happens after you register, and avoid common registration mistakes.
Talk with Your Counselor First
Before you register, CVA encourages students to meet with their local school counselor to make sure they are choosing the right course. Your counselor can help confirm that the course fits your schedule and graduation plan.
Have This Information Ready
Gather this information before opening the registration form. This will help you complete the process more smoothly and avoid registration delays.
CVA Course Information
Know the course name and section type you need: A, B, or Y. Review available courses on the CVA Registration Hub.
Student Email Address
Use your CCSD student email account. After registering, check your email right away for a confirmation email for each course request.
Parent or Guardian Email Address
Email is the primary mode of communication. Use an active parent or guardian email address that is checked regularly. This email address must be different from the student email address.
Student ID Number
CCSD students will need their 7-digit Cobb County School District student ID number, also known as their lunch number.
Rising 9th-Graders ONLY
For summer-term registration between 8th and 9th grade, choose your current grade level and middle school.
Before You Submit
Students Should Register
CVA highly recommends that students, not parents, complete the registration process as part of their online learning experience.
Review Autofill
Some browsers may autofill incorrect information into the registration form. Review all information carefully before submitting.
Watch Deadlines
Students registering past CCSD’s last day for schedule changes in a semester may have their CVA course registrations denied. Speak with your counselor before registering.
What Happens Next
After You Submit Registration
After submitting registration, pay close attention to your email. Registration requests are reviewed and verified before enrollment is complete.
Check for Confirmation
You should receive a confirmation email for each course request. If you do not receive one email per request, contact CVA Registration.
School Verification
Local school counselors verify course selections. Rising 9th-grade students are verified by their middle school scheduling administrator.
Read CVA Emails
Students and parents receive email updates when verification is complete. Once enrolled, students receive a Welcome to CVA email with important course information.
Payment Information
Tuition payment information is sent after local school course approval. CVA states that payment must be received within one week of the tuition payment email or by the end of online registration, whichever comes first. Always review the current term registration information for exact deadlines.
