Forbes 2025

August 28, 2025According to Forbes, Cobb Schools has been ranked one of the best places to work in the state for seven years in a row. The district is ranked #26 in the state and is the highest-rated school system in the Atlanta metro area.

Cobb Schools tops national brands—including Home Depot, Target, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, and every university in the state—as one of the best employers in Georgia. Although another large metro Atlanta school district made the list, it was more than 60 spots below Cobb.

This recognition has shown itself every day in schools across the District, with 99% of teachers once again returning to serve Cobb students this year.

The Cobb County School District Board Chair, David Chastain, praised the district's employees, saying, “At the heart of our schools is the best team of educators in public education, and this repeated honor, for the 7th straight year from an international brand like Forbes, is proof of that."

A big reason Cobb continues to be recognized as one of Georgia’s Best Employers is Georgia’s BEST—a first-of-its-kind partnership with the University of West Georgia. The program removes the financial burden of graduate school, giving Cobb educators the opportunity to earn an advanced degree at no cost to them.

Since launching two years ago, Georgia’s BEST has changed the lives of more than 600 Cobb educators, strengthening both Cobb’s workforce and student success.

In a program that continues to grow every year, it’s an asset that allows educators to get advanced degrees and earn more, while also promoting growth within Cobb Schools.
