SY 2026-27 Core Recommendation & Elective Request Review

2026-27SY Core Recommendations & Elective Requests are available for review in ParentVue and StudentVue as of Thursday, April 2nd. The listed courses do not represent the student’s detailed 2026-2027 academic schedule; they are just the list of core courses to be scheduled for next year and potential elective courses to be scheduled.

Please review your recommended and requested courses to confirm their accuracy. Once you and your parents/guardians have reviewed and confirmed the course selection, please complete and submit the 26-27SY Course Request Verification Form. This form must be completed by Friday, April 17, 2026.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • How many classes should I have on my request list?
    • Students should have 4 Core Class Requests and 8 Elective Class requests. Those courses listed at the top are priority classes (Core and Top Electives); those courses listed at the bottom are additional elective options if the prioritized ones are unavailable due to class sizes or scheduling conflicts.
  • Where is my Mentorship, Work-Based-Learning, Minimum day, or Yearbook Request?
    • If you requested one or more of these courses, but do not see it in your list of requests, that means you did not submit an application. You must turn in the appropriate application for it to be added back to your requests.
    • Reminder: Just because you applied, you are not guaranteed spots in these programs. Approval may be contingent on prerequisites and/or graduation requirements.
  • I submitted a waiver, double-up, online, or Dual Enrollment form during registration in early March, but it is not reflected in my requests, what do I do?
    • There is nothing to do. If you submitted a form, it was filed and is currently under review for approval and will be reflected in your schedule released in late summer.
    • Remember, approval for these may be contingent on prerequisites or graduation requirements. Double-Up approval is also contingent on class seat availability and master schedule flexibility.
  • I have the wrong band, orchestra, chorus, drama, or ROTC level on my requests, how do I get this corrected?
    • These will be corrected when the course teachers provide level placement based on auditions and/or transcript review. The class currently listed is just to hold your spot for that class.
  • How do I change my Core Class recommendations? How do I change my Elective Class recommendations?
    • Submit a course waiver form for CORE classes.
    • No changes will be made to ELECTIVE requests unless you believe there is a school error. An audit of the submitted physical and electronic elective forms will follow any such inquiries.

IMPORTANT:

This is the final opportunity to submit a request to waive into or out of a core course recommended by a teacher, to submit an AP Contract to hold your spot in an AP course, and to submit a request to double up in math, science, or world language courses.

If you desire any of these actions listed above, you must submit the appropriate form by Friday, April 17, 2026! Forms can be found in the counseling office and linked below.
