Hello KSE Families,

King Springs will kick off the Kid’s Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association on January 4th!  Last year, KSE raised $57,210!  This was the most significant increase in fundraising in the nation!  KSE also raised the 2nd most in CCSD!

I understand that last year KSE was in the lead until the last week, and another school barely passed us!  As a school district, CCSD raised the most of any district in the nation, which is something to be proud of!  I love a good competition so let’s be the top fundraising school this year!  But more importantly, I don’t know many people in their families who have not been touched by heart disease, and I can’t think of a better campaign to teach our students how to improve their health while raising life-saving donations for kids with special hearts.  The funds raised go to the American Heart Association to fund cardiovascular and stroke research, education, and community outreach.

For the next month, our PE coaches, Mr. Hardy and Mr. Worrall will lead the campaign from the gym and need your help. Register for the heart challenge by following the link below.  Your child will also bring home a flyer with some information, but the link below will get you started.  We would love to see many of our students participate, so please register as soon as possible.  The top 5 classes with the most students registered will earn an Amazon gift card for their teacher!

While raising funds, our coaches will teach our students skills to enhance their health and well-being.  The students will earn gifts along the way for their fundraising efforts, and at the end of the campaign, the students will participate in some fun activities during PE.

Thank you, families, for joining in this important effort, and let Coach Hardy  and Coach Worrell know if you have questions!
