NEW Dismissal Communication System Coming for 2025–2026 School Year

To continue to put student safety first, next year East Side will utilize a new system for communicating daily afternoon dismissal plans for students and transportation changes. Starting this August, all dismissal plans and transportation changes will be communicated through ParentVUE, our district’s secure parent platform. This means we will NO longer accept paper notes or phone calls for transportation changes (This will go into FULL effect on August 19th). Many neighboring schools have already been using this system and parents and staff share that it is easy to use & makes dismissal smoother for everyone!
*This change enhances student safety and makes the process easier for families—you’ll be able to submit changes quickly through the ParentVUE app or online portal by 1:40 PM each day.
*Please review the attached information and make your student(s)’ dismissal selections before the first day of school.
The dismissal application (also known as GoSafe) in ParentVUE will allow you to pre-set your child’s daily afternoon transportation options for Monday-Friday (car rider, bus, walker, ASP, club) via your ParentVUE app or CTLS parent online. If you need to make changes to one of the days, you will go back into your account (for each student) and make a temporary change to your ParentVUE account.
This program eliminates the need to send in notes or make phone calls for dismissal changes. Beginning August 19th , we will no longer accept notes or phone calls for transportation changes. On August 19, 2025 and moving forward, all changes MUST BE MADE IN PARENTVUE.
Other reminders about transportation:
- Self-release walkers will require a paper note from the enrolling adult stating the student has permission to walk home without a parent present.
- When school and BEST Clubs begin, you will add a “Note” in the Dismissal application stating the club's name, and session attending (first session is immediately after school, some clubs have a second session)
- If your child will attend a second session club, their dismissal choice will be ASP (since they will dismiss from their classroom to ASP prior to attending their club). Still, add the note with “Second session & Club Name”
- Some CCSD Dismissal attachments/documents may mention a barcode for car dismissal. East Side will NOT be utilizing the barcode feature at this time. We will have our same car hang tags and student bag tags available for pick-up at Eagle Day.
- You will indicate your student’s inclement weather dismissal choice through ParentVue Dismissal Application as well.
As the enrolling adult, what do I need to do now?
All East Side Families need to log into ParentVue, set your child’s default afternoon transportation settings and your emergency dismissal setting. We will run a daily report and send out reminders in August, due to the fact that we must have 100% of our families select their default transportation prior full implementation date of August 19th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us here at the school and we can assist you.
