Reading Bowl
Sponsors: Alyson Jefferson
What is HRRB?
The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a quiz bowl-style competition that tests students’ knowledge of the books they have read. The list of books are pulled from the well-respected Georgia’s Children Book Award Nominees.
The team is open to fourth and fifth graders.
A county-level competition is held in January. The top two teams from each competition level move on to regionals, then to divisionals, and then to the state competition held in Athens each spring.
Science Fair
Sponsor: Sarah Whittle
Completed projects are due on Thursday, February 6th, 2025. Projects will be displayed in the media center for STEAM Night. Judging will take place on Friday morning, February 7th, 2025. The five top-place science fair winners will be accepted to the Cobb-Paulding District Science Fair.
We encourage all students to participate in the Science Fair so GMEF is proud to offer complimentary, cardboard trifold displays (have your student see Ms. Whittle in the STEM Lab after registering if you’d like one).
