August 26, 2026 — Hillgrove High School ranks among the top 50 best public high schools in Georgia for 2026-27, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. 

When looking at schools just in the metro Atlanta area, Hillgrove moves up the ranking to 32nd. Hillgrove is one of 11 Cobb Schools ranked among Georgia's top 100 high schools.

These rankings are calculated based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, college curriculum breadth, and performance among underserved students.  

Not only has Hillgrove proven to be one of the top schools in the state, but Hillgrove's recognition also extends beyond Georgia.

Among more than 27,000 public high schools evaluated nationwide, Hillgrove ranks No. 1,525. That places Hillgrove in the top 5.6% of public high schools nationwide. 

The latest state and national rankings reflect Hillgrove’s strong academic record, including its contribution to Cobb’s record-breaking graduation rate. That is more proof of the high level of achievement families can expect at Hillgrove and across Cobb Schools.
