Goal #1: Literacy

Strengthen students' ability to identify key ideas and details in informational text, across content areas as measured by proficiency levels on EOCs and Common Assessments.

Develop and implement effective use of a Literacy Team for the purpose of training of reading strategies and data analysis.

Teachers will use research-based reading strategies embedded in instructional practices throughout the year.

Teachers will develop a (R.I.T.A - Reading Informational Text Assessment)Baseline as a Pre-Test.

Teachers will participate in trainings of research based strategies regarding reading and math literacy.

During CCC team meetings common assessment data will be analyzed and necessary adjustments will be made to instruction.

Administrators will observe teaching and learning of reading strategies throughout classroom observations.

Assessments will include a focus on key ideas and details of informational texts.

The Literacy team will analyze data from CTLS teacher-generated common assessments (R.I.T.A. - Reading Informational Text Assessments) and RI Scores . Assessments and data analysis will occur every six weeks per semester in all content areas.
We will measure achievement through various sources of data including common formative and summative assessments through CTLS Assess Analytics, Reading Inventory for 9th and 11th grade, and Georgia Milestones.

Increase Math Literacy skills as measured by proficiency levels with an initial baseline assessment and then common summative assessments for comparison.

Professional learning on researched-based strategies that teach increased confidence in math and ways to best teach the quadratic unit that considers various learning styles.  The professional learning will take place the first month of school.

Teachers will participate in trainings on teaching reading strategies and math literacy.

Teachers will use research-based reading strategies embedded in instructional practices throughout the year.
