2025 Osborne Partner In Education Summit: UNITED IN ACTION

August 12th marked the return of Osborne High School’s annual Partners in Education Summit—a celebration of collaboration and a testament to the strength of the Osborne community. This event unites businesses, organizations, and schools in the Osborne cluster, creating meaningful connections that directly support students, staff, and families.
The theme for this year’s gathering was “Osborne United / Osborne Unidos!” From the moment the first guests arrived, it was clear the spirit of unity was alive. Visitors were warmly welcomed by outstanding Osborne students representing athletics, student government, and ROTC. The soundtrack of the morning, provided by talented members of the Osborne Orchestra, set the tone for a day dedicated to partnership and purpose.
Guests enjoyed the opportunity to network and learn how to create impactful collaborations while sharing a meal prepared by Chef Nesmith and her culinary arts students. The menu, featuring the much-celebrated “Best Grits in Town” and other culinary delights, impressed all in attendance. Generous contributions from Caribou Coffee and Nothing Bundt Cakes added to the experience, reflecting the shared commitment of local partners.
The program began with each attendee introducing themselves and sharing why they wanted to unite with Osborne and the surrounding schools. Principal Dr. Troy Jones, Athletics Director Ron Boggs, and CITA Director Dr. Tiffany Barney offered words of welcome and shared ways to actively support the work taking place in the community’s schools. Assistant Principal Dr. Ben Needle followed with an overview of Osborne’s most pressing needs—an invitation for partners to step forward in tangible ways.
A highlight of the morning was the presentation of the 2024–2025 Partner in Education Awards.
The Spirit of Osborne Award was presented to Head Custodian and Employee of the Year, Ms. Shanay Brown. A proud mother of two Cardinal graduates and a dedicated member of the Osborne family for decades, Ms. Brown embodies the pride and commitment that make the school exceptional.
The Staff Partner Award went to the dynamic duo of Thresa Rodden of Perfection Street Realty and Danielle Buttram of Certainty Home Lending. Their unwavering support and thoughtful gestures have lifted the spirits of Osborne staff throughout the year.
The Community Partner Award honored Natalie Rutledge, former Regional Director for Communities In Schools and now Community Development Officer for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Her decade-long service to Cobb Schools—especially within the Osborne cluster—has strengthened connections and provided vital support to students in need.
The summit concluded with the official signing of three new Partners in Education, each with a unique bond to Osborne:
LGE Credit Union, a long-time supporter, expanded its commitment this year with additional programming to benefit students, staff, and the community.
HDZ Landscape, owned and operated by 2021 Osborne graduate Daniel Lazaro, pledged to maintain the school’s campus with pride and excellence.
Caribou Coffee, represented by General Manager and Osborne parent Bricelia Schwarb, formalized its dedication to supporting Osborne’s mission.
The 2025 Partners in Education Summit was more than an event—it was a reminder that when schools, businesses, and community members unite, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom. It was a morning filled with laughter, inspiration, and the shared belief that together, we are stronger.
