Osborne High School’s courtyard was buzzing with excitement on Friday, September 19, as the school’s highly anticipated Bonus Block celebration honored students who earned a 78 or higher in all their classes.

The festivities began during lunch, where qualifying students were greeted with cotton candy—a sweet way to kick off the day of recognition. But the real magic began at 2:25 p.m., when Bonus Block officially started.

Students whose parents signed an online permission form enjoyed an early dismissal, starting their well-earned break a little sooner. Meanwhile, hundreds of other students headed to the school arena, where a lively celebration awaited. Music filled the space as classmates played games, mingled, and soaked up the festive atmosphere.

Adding to the excitement, Kona Ice offered their signature treats at a special discounted rate, while volunteers served up free hot dogs, chips, drinks, and—of course—more cotton candy. Smiles and laughter echoed across the arena as students celebrated their academic achievements together.

Community members and Osborne staff worked hand in hand to make the event a success, ensuring every detail—from snacks to music—was perfectly in place.

When asked how it felt to be celebrated for their hard work, students shared that it was “amazing to be recognized for academic success in all classes” and said they “can’t wait for the next one.”
