What if I am absent from school?

Students who have been absent from school must submit an excuse note through CTLS or to the Attendance Office upon return to school. Parents do not need to call the school to inform us that your student is sick. Per Cobb County policy, notes must be turned in within three (3) days of absence. Notes will NOT be accepted after the three (3) day limit. Please provide a doctor's note from the provider when your student is absent due to a doctor or dental appointment. Students ARE NOT permitted to write excuse notes and they will not be accepted.

**DO NOT SEND YOUR STUDENT TO SCHOOL IF THEY ARE RUNNING A FEVER OR NOT FEELING WELL.**

Parents can monitor their student's attendance in ParentVue and set notifications at http://parentvue.cobbk12.org.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:

If your student is a walker or car rider, school doors open at 8:15 a.m., and students can attend Study Hall until the bell rings for homeroom at 8:50 a.m. All students should be off campus by 4:45 p.m. each day.

Students arriving at 9:15 will need to sign in tardy in the Attendance Office. Students should be in homeroom by 9:15 for morning announcements.

If your student has a transportation change, please contact the school before 3:45 p.m., so we have time to notify your child before dismissal.

School Tardy Policy:

Students who accumulate seven (7) unexcused tardies to school per semester will receive an office referral which will result in an administrative warning. Students who accumulate ten (10) unexcused tardies to school per semester will receive an office referral which will result in a day of ISS.

Early Dismissal Procedures:

To eliminate classroom disruptions, please send a note in with your student for an early check-out stating the dismissal time. Your student will show the teacher they are checking out and they will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office. Early dismissals will be accepted until 3:45 p.m. If you arrive to pick up AFTER 3:45 p.m., please accept our apologies as we will not be able to call into the classroom for your student. Students will be dismissed at normal dismissal time at 4:15 p.m.
