STEM / Garden Club 3rd-5th $20 (ASP) $10 (t-shirt) | Starting date: September 10 Wednesday | The Garden and STEM Club offers 3rd– 5th grade students a hands-on opportunity to explore both science and gardening in fun, creative ways. From planting flowers and vegetables to experimenting with STEM challenges, students will learn about soil science, sustainability, engineering, and problem-solving. This club encourages curiosity, teamwork, and innovation while students grow their green thumbs and strengthen their STEM skills. Space is limited to 20 students. | ||
Fitness Club 3rd - 5th Grade $20 (ASP) | Starting date: September 9 Tuesday | The Fitness Club is a life-changing physical activity based positive youth development for students in 3rd-5th grade. We will teach life skills through energetic interactive lessons and running games. The goal of the program is to build confidence through small and large milestones through physical activities. We will attempt to establish a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Space is limited to 25 students. | ||
News Team 4th & 5th Grades | Monday - Friday 7:35-8:00 am | Our mission is to provide students with a variety of academic, social, and technological enrichment opportunities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing that leads to the success of the whole child. | ||
Safety Patrol 5th Grade | Starting date: September 8 | 5th grade patrollers raise and lower the USA flag, assist in the cafeteria, and assist with morning car riders and buses. They also serve as role models for the younger students. Space is limited to 10 students. | ||
Guys with Bowties 4th & 5th Grade $20 (ASP) $10 (t-shirt) | Starting date: October 1 | Guys with Bowties is a mentorship program designed to help young fourth and fifth grade boys at Russell Elementary School grow, receive, and develop into confident and positive citizens in the community. Through engaging educational activities and guidance, students will learn essential life skills such leadership, dressing for success, good manners, and positive behavior. The program aims to support students to increase school attendance and improve behavior and grades. More information to come. | ||
Girls with Pearls 4th & 5th Grade $20 (ASP) $10 (t-shirt) | Starting date: October 1 | Girls with Pearls is an inspiring mentorship program at Russell Elementary School, created to help fourth and fifth grade girls grow into confident, respectful, and empowered young women. Through meaningful mentorship and engaging activities, participants learn valuable life skills such as leadership, dressing with confidence, practicing good manners, and demonstrating positive behavior. The program is designed to improve school attendance, academic performance, and personal development—encouraging girls to shine in school and in their communities. More information to come. | ||
Coding Club 3rd - 5th Grade $20 (ASP) $10 (t-shirt) | Starting date: September 9 Tuesdays | We are excited to offer Girls Who Code for our 3rd–5th grade students! The purpose of this club is to build confidence and skills in computer science while working on fun projects, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students will learn about coding concepts and explore how technology can be used to make a difference in the world. No prior coding experience is required. To learn more, visit www.girlswhocode.com. Bricks 4 Kidz $189 Total $169 (club) $20 (ASP) | Bricks for Kidz Company | Starting date: September 12 - December 5 Thursdays | Bricks 4 Kidz® Enrichment Class takes learning out of the textbook and into an imaginative, hands-on learning experience with emphasis on S.T.E.M./STEAM! In this 60-minute class, our instructor will lead a lesson which will meet Georgia Standards in science, math, and social studies. Students work in pairs to build and re-engineer a motorized model, complete art/experiments, explore, and more. | |
Russell Club Guidelines *Families only have to pay the $20 ASP fee once. *ASP is a prepaid service. The daily fee is $10. Students will not be able to participate in clubs if they have a negative balance in ASP. **Since space is limited, students may not be able to be in multiple clubs. |
