“Sprayberry has a rich history with a tradition of excellence built on the diversity of the student body, dedication from a professional teaching faculty, and unwavering support from the community,” Dr. Church said. “This is a very exciting time for Sprayberry. We are going through a period of transformation, and I am excited and honored to be a part of it. This community deserves a state-of-the-art facility that the students and families can be proud of.”

Question: How long have you been an educator?
Answer: “I started my career in education in 2001. I have served as a teacher, coach, and administrator in public schools here in Cobb, an urban charter school in Chicago, and private international schools in Thailand and South Korea.”
Question: What does “student success” mean to you?
Answer: “To me, student success means every student discovering their unique strengths, feeling seen and supported, and leaving high school with the confidence and skills to pursue their goals - whether that's college, a career, the military, or another path. At Sprayberry High School, success isn't one-size-fits-all. Success is about growth, resilience, and finding purpose. I'm honored to lead a school where students excel not only on the field or in the classroom, but also as leaders, creators, and compassionate members of our community.”
Question: Under your leadership, how will you build on the school’s successes?
Answer: “I believe in listening to our students, staff, and families, and using their voices to guide our growth. Together we'll build a culture where every student is empowered to lead, learn, and thrive.”
Question: What role do you see parents and the community playing in supporting student success?
Answer: “When families, educators, and community members work together, we create a powerful support system that helps students thrive. I believe in open communication, shared goals, and creating opportunities for families to be involved in meaningful ways - whether that's through volunteering, mentoring, attending events, or simply staying connected to their child's school, our school is stronger when we all work together to lift up our students.”
Question: What do you like most about being a principal?
Answer: “As a school principal, I get to impact change on both large and small scales. I make school-wide decisions on programs, hiring and developing teachers, and managing our budget. But, I also get to hang out in the cafeteria, attend fine arts events, support our athletic teams, and drop into classes to hear from our students and support them in their education by making Sprayberry the best place to teach, lead, and learn.”
Question: Outside of school, where might parents and students find you?
Answer: “Outside of school, I'm busy supporting my own kids, 9 and 12, in their athletic, musical, and academic pursuits. I've seen firsthand the impact Cobb schools and teachers have had on my family, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to support your students at Sprayberry High School!”
