Calligraphy Club is made to enlighten students about an old art form! The overarching goal of the club would be to reach students all across Sprayberry High School and aid them in developing their hand lettering skills. The leaders of the club will model beginner level hand lettering with accessible materials such as Crayola markers, dry erase markers, and Sharpies to gradually introduce the art. Meetings may consist of creating posters or signs for teachers or simply practicing the skill set. The skills are beneficial to students and our school! Hand lettering and calligraphy are applied on student projects to elevate the work and teachers consistently need posters made for their classrooms, Homecoming Week, club events, etc. Teaching students around the school how to create beautiful calligraphy or simply cursive will aid teachers in these tasks!

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. At Model UN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors of countries that are members of the UN, from Argentina to Zimbabwe. The students, better known as "delegates" debate current issues on the organization's vast agenda. They prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the UN's rules of procedure - all in the interest of resolving problems that effect the world. Before playing out their ambassadorial roles in Model UN, students research the particular global problem to be addressed. The problems are drawn from today's headlines. Model UN delegates learn how the international community acts on its concerns about peace and security, human rights, the environment, food and hunger, economic development, and globalization.
