Student Parking | January 2024 | Sprayberry High School

Dear Sprayberry Families,

We are excited to begin the first phase of our new construction in the upcoming months.  With our new build, there will be a few accommodations that we will need to make to ensure that everything will run smoothly during our construction process.

We will be moving 39 classrooms from their current sites in the building to modular units that will be located in our large parking lot.  To prepare for the modular units, the main parking lot (Piedmont Road entrance) will need to be partially closed during the Spring semester so that water, sewer, and electric lines can be run to the appropriate areas.  The modular units will be delivered in the late spring so that teachers can move into their new classrooms over the summer.  This process is designed to ensure that the modular units will be ready for the 2024-25 school year in August.

Because the large rear lot will be used for classroom space, the number of available student parking spaces will be limited.  After assigning parking to our staff, we will only have 85 spots available for our students.  All students will be assigned a numbered parking space.  The available spots will first be provided to students who are enrolled in the following courses:

  1. Dual Enrollment
  2. Work Based Learning

Once these students have registered for parking, the remaining spaces will be opened to students in the following order:

  1. Seniors
  2. Juniors

Parking will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis, and applications are available in the front office today.  The parking window will be as follows:

December 14 – 15:  Dual Enrollment and Work Based Learning students

 December 18 – 19 and January 3:  Seniors

 January 4 – 10:  Juniors (if available)

To be clear, these changes will begin in January 2024 so that the parking lot can be prepared for our modular units.  I will provide you with additional carpool information for arrival and dismissal next week.  Thank you so much for your patience during this exciting process!

 Sincerely,
