October 12, 2022 PSAT/NMSQT Administration – Information for SOPHOMORE (10th Grade) Students

On Wednesday, October 12th, all first-time sophomore students will participate in the PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). The State of Georgia pays the test fee for 10th grade students only. It is important that students take the PSAT/NMSQT seriously as it provides good practice in preparation for future standardized tests, such as the SAT.  The assessment also provides feedback on college readiness and free personalized SAT test prep through Khan Academy.  To accommodate the large number of testing participants, a revised bell schedule will be implemented on Wednesday, October 12th. Specific testing information will be sent through CTLS Parent and posted to the school’s website closer to the assessment administration.

 *Please note: Sophomores DO NOT have to register or submit payment to participate in the October 12th PSAT/NMSQT administration. As currently enrolled 10th grade students, PSAT/NMSQT registration is automatically completed for them.

 October 12, 2022 PSAT Administration – Information for FRESHMAN (9th Grade) and JUNIOR (11th Grade) Students

Freshman (9th grade) and Junior (11th grade) students can participate in the Wednesday, October 12th, PSAT/NMSQT test administration, but will need to register for the exam and pay the $18.00 assessment fee. Participation provides students with practice and exposure to standardized tests along with feedback on college readiness and free personalized SAT test prep through Khan Academy.  Students in the 9th and 11th grades who would like to participate in the October 12th PSAT/NMSQT administration must register and submit payment using Total Registration by 4:00 P.M. on Monday, September 12th. Regretfully, no registrations or payments can be accepted after 4:00 P.M. for any reason.

 *Please note: Testing accommodations are not implemented for freshman students. Active accommodations must be in place at the High School level for a minimum of four (4) months.
