Principal Amber Little is the new principal of Smyrna Elementary School.

As Amber Little steps into the role of principal of Smyrna Elementary School, she brings more than two decades of experience as an educator. 

Principal Little moved into school leadership ten years ago, allowing her to positively impact a larger number of students and staff members.

“Being in education is such a gift that I value each and every day,” Principal Little explained. 

Some of her favorite moments are when a student understands a new learning concept or exceeds a goal. 

In this new Principal Q&A, learn more about Principal Little, including her favorite sports teams.

Question: Why are you excited about joining the Smyrna Elementary School community?

Answer: “Smyrna staff and students have an energy that radiates all those that enter the building. The staff is supportive and committed to students. I am beyond excited to lead alongside a wonderful group of educators and staff members supporting all students and families. It is going to be an amazing 2024-2025 school year!”

Question: What can the school community expect to see under your leadership?

Answer: “Under my leadership, the school community can expect a strong emphasis on relationships. Building partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community will be a priority in order to foster a sense of collaboration and support. There will also be a focus on continuous academic improvement and student success. My experiences have instilled in me a deep commitment to providing the best possible education and support for all students.”

Question: What does student success look like to you?

Answer: “Student success can look different for all students. It can look like building confidence, collaborating with others, and meeting or exceeding academic and/or personal goals. I believe student success is when all students feel prepared and confident to tackle whatever challenges come their way.”

Question: Outside school, where might students, parents, or staff members run into you?

Answer: “Outside of school, you may find me and my family at the University of Georgia cheering on the Dawgs or at Truist Park cheering on the Braves. On any given weekend, you may find me out and about in Cobb dining and shopping. If you see me out, don’t hesitate to come say hello!”
