![]() | Amy Adams is the Assistant Band Director at JJ Daniell Middle School. She is in her twentieth year of teaching band. A trombonist, Mrs. Adams specializes in low brass instruction at all age and experience levels. Mrs. Adams received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. Mrs. Adams also holds a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. She received Specialists Degree from the University of West Georgia in Instructional Technology. Mrs. Adams was selected as Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year at Pine Mountain Middle School in Kennesaw, GA. She is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education. Mrs. Adams resides in Kennesaw, Georgia, with her husband Tim, daughter Vanessa and their pet, JoJo. |
![]() | Shelby Bennett has been teaching for nine years and is currently in her eighth year as Chorus Director at Daniell Middle School. Over her career, her students have received numerous excellent and superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation. She has taken students to events such as Christmas at Piedmont, Universal Studios recording studio, and Disney Amination Station. Her students from the Daniell Choruses have attended GMEA events such as District Honor Chorus and All State Chorus, as well ACDA events such as the Georgia ACDA Honor Chorus. As a singer, she has performed at the Georgia Music Educators Association twice, participated in the 65th Anniversary performance of “The Testament of Freedom” (words by Thomas Jefferson, music by Randall Thompson), the 125th Anniversary Coca Cola Chorus, and performed with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, American Choral Director’s Association, and Mu Phi Epsilon. She received the Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Reinhardt University, studying choral music under Dr. Martha Shaw. Mrs. Bennett lives in Acworth, GA with her husband and son, Cooper. |
![]() | Kevin Boyle is the Director of Bands at Daniell Middle School, and he has taught band and percussion in Georgia for over 20 years. Mr. Boyle’s ensembles have received consistent Superior ratings at Georgia’s annual Large Group Performance Evaluation. His band students participate in All-District and All-State Bands each year. His middle school percussion ensembles have performed at the Lassiter Percussion Symposium, and his marching ensembles have participated in the Georgia Indoor Percussion Association, SAPA, and WGI. He is a co-author of the Habits of a Successful Middle School Musician book series, and he has contributed to developing the digital resources for the Do It! Play in Band series from GIA Publications. An active clinician, Mr. Boyle has presented at The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference, as well as in-service conferences in New York, Connecticut, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Alabama. Mr. Boyle has also conducted district-level Honor Bands in California, Georgia, and Tennessee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Georgia in 2005, and his master’s degree in music education from the University of North Texas in 2019. Professional affiliations include Phi Beta Mu, the National Association for Music Education, the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Band Association, and the Percussive Arts Society. Kevin Boyle proudly represents Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, Sabian Cymbals, and Mapex/Majestic percussion instruments. He currently resides in Kennesaw, GA with his wife Allison. |
![]() | William R. Whitehead is an American string music educator, orchestral conductor, and violist. He is currently the Director of Orchestras at Daniell Middle School in Cobb County, Georgia, director of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestras' Camerata Orchestra, and a conductor of the Florida State University (FSU) String Orchestra Camp Symphony Orchestra. He has held previous engagements as Assistant Music Director of the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras and Music Director of the FSU Sinfonia, and enjoyed collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists such as the London-based pianist Antonio Oyarzábal, Curtis Institute harp professor Noël Wan, film composer Daniel Wakefield, and cellist Greg Sauer. An experienced music educator, Dr. Whitehead has taught undergraduate and graduate coursework in conducting and string pedagogy, as well as taught orchestra to all ages from elementary school through high school. Several of Dr. Whitehead’s former students have successfully auditioned into honor orchestras and pre-college programs, pursued degrees in music performance and music education, and are now beginning their own careers in music performance and music education. Dr. Whitehead holds the Ph.D. in Music Education and Orchestral Conducting from FSU, as well as the M.M. in Music Education from Kent State University, and the B.M.E. in Instrumental Music Education and B.M. in Viola Performance from FSU. |
