2024-2025 Mabry Student Forum

Mabry is currently taking applications for those interested in being elected as a Grade Level Representative or Student Forum Officer.  Mabry students who meet the criteria listed below are eligible to run for one of the following positions: Grade Level Representative, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Reporter.  In addition to our five officers, there will be up to 8 representatives from each grade level.  Students who run for an office, but are not elected, will serve as Grade Level Representatives.

Being a Student Forum member is a commitment students need to take seriously. Students must be able to be present for meetings held twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesday mornings at 8:10 am.  Students are expected to be a role model for the entire student body and maintain positive behavior and strong academics.  

To be considered for Student Forum candidacy, students must meet the following criteria:

    Averages in all classes should be 80 or higher with satisfactory conduct

    Grade Level Sponsors will review grades in Synergy  

    Be in good standing with behavior 

    Grade Level Sponsors will reach out to teachers for recommendations 

    Be able to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday mornings of each month at 8:10 am

    Be flexible and display a positive and encouraging attitude 

    Exhibit the potential for leadership and be a role model to others 

    Have a genuine interest in making a positive impact on the school and community

    Consistently portray qualities of compassion, cooperation, and courage!

Students meeting the above criteria will be considered for Student Forum candidacy.  The approved candidates will receive notification of acceptance, along with detailed information regarding the election process, on Monday, September 9.  Accepted candidates must comply with all campaign and election requirements.  Once accepted as a candidate, Grade Level Sponsors will email candidates’ parents for parental approval.  

Election Process & Timeline:

  • Student Forum Informational Meeting- Thursday, August 22 
  • Applications available – Thursday, August 22 – Friday, September 6
  • Deadline for submitting applications- End of the Day on Friday, September 6
  • Accepted Candidates Notified and given campaign guidelines- Monday, September 9
  • Candidates creates a campaign PPT slide and emails it to Mr. Tanner at Jonathan.Tanner@cobbk12.org by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 11 
  • Candidates email video speeches to Mrs. Albertson at Kristine.Albertson@cobbk12.org no later than Friday, September 13
  • Candidates’ campaign slides shown on announcements on Monday, September 16 – Friday, September 20 
  • Campaign Videos and Election – Friday, September 20 during Social Studies Classes
  • Winners announced – Friday, September 20 during Afternoon Announcements
