Pope Recognized as One of Georgia's Best

August 26, 2026 — In the latest recognition of Pope High School’s academic excellence, Pope ranks No. 25 among public high schools in Georgia for the 2026-27 school year, according to U.S. News & World Report rankings. Pope is one of 11 Cobb high schools ranked among Georgia’s top 100. That ranking also places Pope among the highest-ranked high schools in Cobb.

In metro Atlanta, Pope ranks at No. 20 for the top high schools.

These rankings are calculated based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, college curriculum breadth, and performance among underserved students.

Not only has Pope proven to be one of the top schools in the state, but Pope’s recognition extends beyond Georgia.

Among more than 27,000 public high schools evaluated nationwide, Pope ranks No. 823. That means Pope stands in about the top 3% of public high schools nationwide.

The latest state and national rankings reflect Pope’s strong academic record, including recent Georgia Milestones results that show high levels of student achievement in math, science, and social studies. It is another example of the tradition of excellence that has defined Pope throughout its 40-year history.
