Pope SAT Average Far Exceeds State and National Averages

October 7, 2026 — Pope High School’s Class of 2026 earned an average SAT score of 1181, placing students 150 points above Georgia’s average and 170 points above the national average. Pope was one of eight Cobb high schools with averages above 1100. Its results also finished 65 points above Cobb’s district average of 1116, giving the school community another academic accomplishment to celebrate.
Georgia’s average was 1031, while the national average was 1011, out of a possible 1600 points. Pope exceeded all three comparison averages: district, state, and national.
Pope students averaged 595 in evidence-based reading and writing and 586 in math, outperforming Georgia public-school averages by 70 points in reading and writing and 80 points in math, while topping the national public-school averages by 80 and 90 points, respectively.
SAT scores can support college applications and scholarships. For students planning those next steps, the results represent one part of the academic preparation they carry with them after graduation.
Congratulations to Pope graduates and the teachers, counselors, and families who helped prepare them for opportunities beyond high school.
