This Week at the Mountain 08-08-2022 We had a great first week of school! Thank you for working with your student on all the information posted on the website. Your review with your student was crucial in making the week smooth. During our first week of school, students practiced their lockers, became familiar with their new class locations, and were oriented to the school’s core values: commitment, leadership, integrity, mindfulness, and balance (CLIMB).
This week students will continue learning about our CLIMB expectations and how those expectations apply to their behaviors for learning while at the school and on the bus. In addition, students will be taking pre-assessments to help teachers better prepare instruction for the upcoming year. Here are a few reminders and informational tips to help you have a smooth start to the new year as well: - Contact the office before 3:45 pm to switch a student's way home (car-rider to a bus-rider or a bus-rider to a car-rider).
- Checkouts need to occur prior to 3:45 pm.
- Middle school students do not receive daily take home folders like elementary students. CTLS Parent will be used at the middle school level.
- Due to families moving both to our school and out of the district over the past couple of weeks, we will be continuing to balance class sizes.
- Once clubs are ready to start meeting, we will post the meeting dates on the weekly calendar. Please encourage your student to get plugged in to school by getting involved. A complete list of clubs and organizations will be shared with students and families soon. Students can already locate information about clubs on the Club Bulletin Board outside the cafeteria.
- PTSA membership opportunities will be coming soon.
- Weekly updated grades will be available for families to view on Thursdays.
- Teachers will provide feedback to students about quizzes (common formative assessments) no later than two days after the quiz (common formative assessment) is administered.
- Nine weeks assessments/semester tests are administered in some classes.
- On Monday, August 15, we will begin our school's major fundraiser - Color Battle.
