An Arts Integration School

The current Powder Springs Elementary School is the fourth facility to serve the historical community of Powder Springs, Georgia.  The original public school, Springville Academy was established in 1840. In 1859, the city was incorporated as Powder Springs and the school became known as Powder Springs High School.  With the implementation of the middle school concept, the sixth grade was moved to McEachern Middle School in 1970.  Powder Springs became an elementary school housing grades one through five with kindergarten added for all children in 1980. The ground breaking for the current building was held in the fall of 1987 and the school opened in the fall of 1988.

Powder Springs Elementary School has an enrollment of approximately 800 students (kindergarten through fifth grade with two SNPK classrooms).  In 2011, Powder Springs became eligible for Title I funds.  These funds are used to support extra instruction, hire additional staff, and to provide instructional resources and materials.

We are proud to be a part of the Powder Springs community. Our school works closely with our parents, local businesses, churches, and other organizations to support our students. Our school vision is Investing in tomorrow while engaging creative minds today. Our mission is to Invest, Inspire, and Innovate with Integrity.  By working together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students.
