Good afternoon, Spartan Families, 

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving Break. We hope that you and your families had opportunities to make memories and spend some quality time together. 

We will begin End of Course Tests on November 28 and then Final Exams. The bell schedule for the End of Course Tests along with parent letters in English and Spanish are attached below. We will be sharing the final exam schedule soon. Please note that final exams may not be taken early. Please continue to encourage your student to do his or her best for the remainder of this semester. 

Campbell's Commencement/Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 @10am at the KSU Convocation Center.  
Seniors who are December graduates will be able to request tickets for our commencement ceremony beginning on November 28th through December 15th.  Counseling and Dr. Dorrough will communicate the process to graduates this week.  Seniors who are May graduates will be able to request tickets for our commencement ceremony beginning on January 16th through February 29th. This is a ticket request for graduates and is not a guarantee of the number of tickets graduates will receive.  Graduates that do not complete the request will only receive two tickets.  If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Dorrough (Jennifer.Dorrough@cobbk12.org).
 
The Campbell AP Scholars Student Meeting was held this past Wednesday, November 8th.   If a student that attended the CAPS meeting or completed the original interest form is interested in the possibility of a schedule change request for Spring 2024, please complete the link below by Friday, December 1st by 4pm.  Please note that schedule change requests are only for CORE subject areas (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) and for on level to Honors or Honors to AP requests.  Requests will be met based on availability in the current schedule.

 Parents are reminded that students should not be dropped off before 7:30 AM unless it has been requested by a teacher or coach and they will remain with that adult. Students are also expected to leave the building no later than 4 PM unless they are under the supervision of a teacher or coach.

SAVE THE DATE: The Campbell HS Counseling Department will be hosting a virtual Financial Aid Information Session on December 7, 2023 @ 6:30 pm for students & families who are interested in learning more about the FASFA and different types of Financial Aid for college.  Please scan the QR Code or click the link to join us for this virtual event. 
Please see attached for a flyer advertising two upcoming November Apply to College events. We’re adding this event this year to promote the Georgia schools that are waiving application fees for November, to increase access for our seniors. College reps will be on hand to help with applications. We will still have our annual Apply to College Week in January as well – stay tuned for information about those schools in the coming weeks. The flyer is below.

The Campbell Counseling Department will be holding Junior Advisement (JA) appointments from October- December beginning the week of October 9-13. All Campbell 11th grade students received his/her letter with the specific time & date of appointment during HR/Advisement on October 6.  
 
During the Junior Advisement meeting, each 11th grader will complete and receive the following information to help plan for the student’s individual post-secondary destination: 
-Update the Individual Graduate Plan (IGP) to review remaining graduation requirements  
**This is NOT course registration! 
-Review resources to plan for post-secondary destinations and future 
-Verify SSN in CCSD system (this must be correct for HOPE eligibility) 
-Receive a copy of unofficial transcript & current HOPE GPA report 
- An email will be sent after the meeting to the enrolling adult and student with resources

Family members who wish to attend in person, please arrive early to allow time for you to check-in with the front office. Family members who would like to participate remotely have the option of a phone conference to follow along with our Junior Advisement Checklist including all topics covered in the JA meeting. Due to the high number of individual appointments, the counseling office is unable to reschedule junior advisement appointments.

We want to celebrate our October Students of the Month. These students were selected by their teachers for displaying Campbell's core values of being Committed, Honorable and Strong and were celebrated along with their parents at special breakfast sponsored by ChickFilA and supported by our JROTC and chamber band. 


Congratulations to the 12 CHS Singing Spartans selected to participate in GMEA's District XII Honor Chorus. They will join high school students in Cobb and Marietta City Schools to participate in this event in January.

 Fall 2023 Power Surge (Tutoring support for our students) dates, subjects, and times. 
Power Surge for ELA and Social Studies courses will be held on Saturday, December 2, 9 AM-12 PM.  Students can work on missed assignments or assessments.  Students will enter the building by the main office and should bring their laptop.  See Dr. Eaton in room 312 if you have any questions.

Reminder that Magnet Applications are due December 1st. Reminder that this is the only opportunity for students to be considered for admission into the Campbell IB or any academic magnet program, even if they reside in the feeder zone. No applications can be considered after this deadline. 

Thank you to the IBBC and Mrs. Sashittal for providing cupcakes, Mrs. Bell and Sra. Roberson for organizing, and Mr. Ross for painting the beautiful signs for Language Celebration to celebrate seniors who took the IB Language exams last year. Your IB Booster Club Donations hard at work!!

Academic Advisement for Rising Seniors begins Tuesday, November 28th. If you have not already signed up, please see the link sent via Remind prior to the break. Reminder that ONLY students are in person. 


Thank you to Mr. Jones, Mrs. Bell, and everyone who was able to attend our first IB Insights meeting before break. We will send out notes on Remind this week.  


The celebration above, as well as the multitude of other events cannot happen without your generous donations to the IB Booster Club. If you have not already donated this year, please consider donating during our IBBC Annual Fund Drive which closes on December 15th.

Attention Senior Fine Arts Families. The Fine Arts Diploma Seal Application is live. The Fine Arts Diploma seal is awarded to thousands of seniors each year who demonstrate mastery in their fine arts content area. This signifies to colleges as well as the arts community/workforce that the student is proficient in their fine arts discipline. Seniors can scan the QR on the flyer to apply. Seniors, here is final opportunity for you to take your senior pictures. Cady Studios will be coming to Campbell on Wednesday, 12/13 in The New Gym Lobby from 8:20am – 2:00pm to take senior photos of any senior who has not taken their pictures. We want you to be included in the yearbook and to be featured at the graduation ceremony.

Congratulations to the Spartans Swim and Dive Teams. The Boys and Girls each took 1st Place on Nov. 17th defeating Allatoona, Hillgrove, Kell, Marietta, North Cobb Christian, and Whitefield. The Spartans compete again on Saturday, Dec. 2nd at Mountain View Aquatic Center.

Calling all runners!! SLEIGHBELLS ON THE SQUARE is an annual 5K on the Marietta Square hosted by the Cobb County Bar Association. The funds collected from this race go to Cobb County families in need of financial assistance. See flyer for registration info.
