Cobb Schools Communications Department Earns National Recognition—Again

June 5, 2025—The Cobb Schools Communications Department has once again earned national acclaim by elevating the District's stories and voices, continuing a long-standing tradition of excellence. The 2025 National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Awards recognized Cobb with 15 honors across multiple categories, spotlighting the department’s role as a leader in school communications nationwide.
The department was honored with six Excellence Awards, the highest distinction given by NSPRA, for impactful writing and photography that captured the heart of Cobb’s school community. The top honors included:
“Rally 4 Ryder” Childhood Cancer Benefit hosted by Lassiter High School
“I love what I do!” highlighting Karen Wright, Cobb’s District Teacher of the Year
“Perseverance Pays Off!” sharing the inspirational journey of adult education student Patria Brown
Superintendent Ragsdale’s message on school safety
“The Crowning of a King” and “Bus Ride Radiance”—two heartfelt photos reflecting memory-making moments during the school year.
In addition, the Communications Department earned five Merit Awards for storytelling and photography that spotlighted student leaders at Osborne High School, community engagement at Varner Elementary School, and learning inside and outside the classroom.
Four Cobb videos earned Honorable Mentions for showcasing the energy, compassion, and achievements of students and staff. From homecoming fun to heartfelt tributes, the stories brought the passion of Cobb Schools to life.
The latest awards from NSPRA add to the award-winning legacy of the District’s Communications Department. Prior years have included state, national, and international communications awards. Through every photo, video, and article, the Communications team supports Cobb’s mission of ensuring student success and highlights why Cobb continues to be the best place to teach, lead, and learn.
