October 15, 2025 — Cobb Schools once again continues to soar above the state and national averages in ACT testing.

This new data reinforces the recent success of students in Cobb Schools. Whether it's Metro Atlanta's best SAT scores or record-breaking graduation rates for 2025, the dedicated work from teachers, parents, tutors, and district leadership continues to show in student results.

This new 23.7 ACT score average is an uptick from 22.8 in 2024 and 22.7 in 2023.

Cobb ranks No. 1 for the highest average ACT scores compared to other Metro Atlanta districts.

Gwinnett, DeKalb, Marietta City, and Fulton County all rank below Cobb Schools in terms of student success on the ACT.

“Every time I hear about another student success story, it reminds me why Cobb is such a special place,” said Cobb Schools Board Chair David Chastain. “Strong results like these don’t happen by accident—they come from teachers, families, and a community all working together to help our students reach their goals.”

While schools across the state and other nearby districts saw scores drop, 12 Cobb Schools improved their ACT scores from last year.

These improved scores, in turn, help students and families achieve their higher education goals, creating more opportunities for colleges and future learning.

With an average score of 28.5, Wheeler High School ranks second in all of Georgia for the highest average score. Two other Cobb Schools scored in the top 20 of Georgia high schools with top ACT scores: Walton High School's 26.8 average secured seventh place, and Pope High School locked in 18th with an average score of 25.1.

Beyond the schoolwide successes, eight students in the 2025 graduating class scored a perfect composite score of 36.0. Two students attend Lassiter High School and Pope, while three students from both Walton and Wheeler earned perfect scores.
