The Cobb Schools Foundation (CSF) is known for being on “a mission to take student success to new heights.” Recently, at the Brookstone Country Club in Acworth, that translated into golf balls taking flight off the tee and from the fairways at the 2025 Charity Golf Tournament. This annual event is a fun way for community sponsors to make a profound difference in the lives of Cobb Schools students.

This year’s golf tournament raised $85,000 to support the CSF causes, including family stabilization, foundation scholarships, and learning interventions. The money raised this year will fully fund 32 scholarships awarded to Cobb students—two from each high school.
“We like to say that we change lives,” CSF President Joy Doss said. “Because of our community of donors and people who facilitate the Cobb Schools Foundation, oftentimes we're able to be the first line of defense for families on the verge of homelessness. We're able to provide food for our students who are hungry. We're able to invest in our students’ futures with scholarships. Everything we do is important because it's making a difference in the lives of all our students in Cobb.”
The Foundation's Birdie Sponsors were Ed Voyles Automotive Group, Lenovo and CDW, Publix, and Surelock Technology. These top sponsors donated at the $5,000 level to reinforce the impact of a community that values academic success and cares about the future of its students.
While some tournament tee shots certainly ended up in the rough, and some approach shots landed in sand traps, these were a metaphorical reminder of the purpose of this charity event. The CSF aims to support students facing rough situations and help them avoid common traps that hinder their progress.
The CSF is seeking sponsors to provide $5,000 Perseverance Awards for students who face their struggles in silence and still choose perseverance over surrender. This recognition honors students who remain determined to move forward despite facing extraordinary challenges.
Many generous sponsors met the challenge of the Brookstone golf course. While some of their scores might not have been much to smile about, there was still plenty of joy and laughter shared due to the success of the cause. Cobb Schools students will certainly enjoy the benefit.
The team representing Carroll Daniel Construction won the tournament. Teams sponsored by DeNyse Signs and Education Planners tied for second place.

“The true win of the day wasn’t on the leaderboard, but in the opportunities that will be provided to Cobb students,” proclaimed Felicia Wagner, Executive Director of the CSF. “We truly appreciate all of our sponsors.”
The goal of CSF is simple but vital: “Each One. Reaches One.” For more information on becoming a contributing sponsor, visit cobbschoolsfoundation.org.
