As their own student was preparing to graduate from Kennesaw Mountain High School, a school family presented a $1,898 scholarship to another graduating student—Jadyn Green.
KMHS 1898 Band Scholarship, sponsored by the Lesley Litt family, aimed to recognize a Kennesaw Mountain wind symphony student who stood out academically and desired to continue to perform, major, or minor in music after graduation. The scholarship amount pays tribute to the school’s address, and the year American pianist and composer George Gershwin was born.
The scholarship is an example of how the school community supports each other, and Kennesaw Mountain students are recognized in many ways for their work, as are their teachers, like Wendy Ross. Ms. Ross was recently recognized by the entire metro Atlanta community.
