If you've ever wondered what they do in JROTC, or have been thinking about getting involved, then today's podcast is for you. While most students think they can either get a job or go to college after high school, JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) is a third option that many don't consider when thinking about their future. Host David Owen discusses all things JROTC with Osborne's Chief Warrant Officer, Rodney Fagan.

Chief Fagan is a retired Army veteran with 26 years of military service. After retirement, he decided to look for ways to serve in his community and took a job at a high school in Fulton County for four years before coming to Osborne in 2006. He has been serving the Cobb community for the last 16 years and has been active in teaching for twenty.

JROTC is a great program that teaches many skills and disciplines necessary for adult life after school. It is also an exciting pathway to go to college for free or learn an in-demand trade. Osborne's program is one of the largest in the county, with 232 students currently enrolled, but every high school in Cobb offers a JROTC track.

There are also many other activities and benefits to JROTC that Chief Fagan discusses in the interview, but you'll have to listen to learn about those!
