Cobb EMC Awards 50 Grants to Support Cobb Teachers

January 12, 2025 — For more than a decade, Cobb EMC has been providing grant funding to teachers across Cobb Schools in an effort to support them throughout the school year.
This year, Cobb EMC awarded more than $35,000, with 50 grants going to Cobb educators.
Nicole Payne, a Special Education teacher at Wheeler High School, is one of this year's award recipients. She was presented with a $500 check from Cobb EMC during one of her classes.
"It's just such an amazing blessing for us that pour so much of ourselves into students, and now to have someone else say we believe in you, love what you do, and support you is amazing," said Payne.

Payne, who has served Cobb Schools for four years, plans to use this money to help get more interactive instruments for her Music Therapy class. She hopes that these new additions will help students work together, while this extra funding will provide more resources for Payne and her fellow Special Education teachers to utilize.
"It's important for us to be able to reach out and engage in schools to help and provide an impact for teachers," said Cobb EMC's Tiko Jones.
