October 29, 2026 —  With a record $98,000 raised, Cobb students were the biggest winners following the Cobb Schools Foundation's annual golf tournament fundraiser at Brookstone Country Club in Acworth. The community-driven event brought together 130 golfers and more than 40 sponsors to support scholarships and programs designed to take Cobb student success to new heights.

Foundation Executive Director Felicia Wagner was on hand to host the event and share her thanks to those who have invested in making a difference in the lives of Cobb Schools students.

“Our golf tournament is a way to bring our community together to support our students,” Wagner said. “Every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer plays a key role in providing scholarships to our graduating seniors, who have worked so hard to graduate and move on toward their academic goals. The proceeds will provide $2,000 scholarships to two graduating students from each of our 17 high schools and will provide three $5,000 perseverance awards to recognize and award students who have overcome remarkable challenges in their young lives.”

The Cobb Schools Foundation provides several ways for sponsors to help students where they are and lift them to where they’re going. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation raises money for students experiencing or at risk of homelessness, funds sensory rooms for students with special learning needs, and supports families in crisis.

Tournament “Birdie sponsors” were Publix Charities, Ed Voyles Automotive Group, Winter Construction, Lenovo/CDW, Education Planners, and Credit Union of Georgia. Their generosity helped turn a great day of golf into meaningful opportunities for Cobb students.

“We're all here for the same cause, to support Cobb County Schools and the Cobb Schools Foundation,” noted Amanda Arnold, CUGA's Director of Community Outreach. “I love the community. It's kind of like a homecoming because you see people from different businesses, but then you also see people from the school system, too. We are so proud to be a part of Cobb County Schools and to support the Fan of the Game and be a partner of Cobb.”

The 2026 event attracted 130 golfers and raised $98,000, representing the highest-grossing tournament for the Foundation to date.

“We are so grateful to our sponsors, the golfers, and volunteers for making this sold-out tournament possible,” Executive Director Wagner beamed. “We also thank Brookstone Country Club for hosting us and 1885 Grill for providing lunch. Our community continues to show up for Cobb students, and we couldn’t do this without them.”

In the end, the Ed Voyles Automotive Group team walked away with the first-place prize. Ultimately, though, Cobb Schools students are the real winners.
