July 1, 2026Sydney Snow, a 2026 graduate of Harrison High School, was recently selected as the 2025-26 Gatorade Georgia Girls Soccer Player of the Year. She joins Wheeler High School's Colben Landrew, who was honored as Georgia's Basketball Player of the Year in March.

The Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating the nation’s best high school athletes for their excellence in sports, academics, and community service.

The award recognizes Sydney as Georgia’s best high school girls soccer player, and she joins an elite legacy that spans professional athletes and coaches to CEOs.

The 5-foot-4 senior forward scored 25 goals and recorded nine assists this past season, leading the Hoyas to an overall record of 16-5 and an appearance in the GHSA 6A state semifinals. Sydney scored six hat tricks (three goals in a game) throughout her senior season, including one in a 3-1 state tournament win over Marietta. She finished her high school career with 66 goals and 39 assists.

The Class 6A Region 3 Co-Player of the Year, Sydney, is the niece of Ashley King Peterson, the 1999-00 Gatorade Tennessee Girls Soccer Player of the Year.

"Sydney is an amazing person, soccer player, and leader," said Jonathan Gross, Harrison High School's head coach. "She’s one of the best to ever put on a Hoyas jersey. She can score goals in a number of ways and also has excellent vision, finding the exact pass to break down the opposing defense."

Sydney was a member of the Harrison High School yearbook staff, the National Honor Society, and served as president of her church youth group. She also volunteered locally with the student-led, philanthropy-focused Miracle Club and as a youth soccer coach.

Sydney graduated with a 4.29 GPA and will attend Brigham Young University this fall.
