Question: What does “student success” mean to you?
Answer: "Student success means every child is inspired to soar in pursuit of their highest potential. Success is about providing each student with a rigorous academic journey that enables them to be college and career-ready. It is tailored to meet each learner’s individual needs. When a child leaves City View with confidence, a love of learning, and the tools to navigate the world, that is success."
Question: Under your leadership, how will you build on City View's successes?
Answer: "I will build on City View’s successes by listening, learning, and collaborating. As a principal, my priority is to empower, build capacity, celebrate, recognize, and learn from our teachers, our parents, our students, and our community about what has made City View great. I want to honor the hard work and dedication that already exists. I am committed to continuing to build on the foundation with high expectations, rich learning experiences, and a culture where every student thrives, teachers are empowered, and every family feels welcomed as a partner in our success."
Question: What role do you see parents and the community playing in supporting student success?
Answer: "Parents and community members are essential to our school’s success. As essential partners, they help us achieve our continuous improvement goals. In addition, our stakeholders support school strategies that enhance academic achievement by supporting school initiatives."
Question: What do you like most about being an educator and principal?
Answer: "What I love most about being an educator and principal is the relationships I am able to build and sustain. There is nothing quite like a former student stopping by just to say hello, or a parent reaching out years later to share how their child is doing. Those moments remind me of why I chose this profession and why I continue to serve."
Question: Outside of school, where might parents and students find you?
Answer: "Outside of school, you’ll find me spending quality time with my family, walking, discovering great restaurants, shopping, and enjoying live concerts. I also enjoy vacationing at the beach."
