EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM (Elementary)

EIP provides additional instructional resources to help students who are identified as struggling learners obtain the necessary acceleration to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.

EIP provides additional instructional resources to help students in grades K-5 who are identified as striving learners, obtain the necessary acceleration to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time. Cobb County adheres to the rules and regulations established by the Georgia Department of Education for EIP through MTSS.

MS/HS ACCELERATED INTERVENTION PROGRAM (AIP)

AIP is an instructional model designed for students in grades 6-12 who are striving in Reading, ELA, and Math. Local AIP programs provide research-based practices and evidence-based interventions for personalized support at the middle and high school level under the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) infrastructure.  MTSS is a Multi-tiered, data-driven prevention framework that uses Assessment (Screening and Progress Monitoring) to identify students at risk for challenged learning outcomes or who experience social/emotional needs, and/or behavioral concerns that impact learning. Under the framework of Georgia’s Tiered System of Supports for Students, RTI and SST are a part of the Cobb County School District MTSS process. This framework integrates instruction and intervention delivered in layers of prevention that vary in intensity based on individual student need.

RESPONSE TO INSTRUCTION & INTERVENTION (RTI2)

RTI2 is a 4 tier system requiring problem identification and analysis, research based instruction, intervention, and progress monitoring. Data is used on a regular basis to monitor student achievement and progress with adjustment to instruction and interventions as needed. Support becomes more individualized and specialized through tier progression.
