Champions for Children provides support services for Georgia’s medically fragile and special needs children and their families who do not qualify for TEFRA/Katie Beckett Medicaid Program.

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) offers treatment and support for individuals with behavioral health needs and developmental disabilities. It administers the Medicaid NOW and COMP waivers to help people live independently and create a sustainable, self-sufficient, and resilient life in their community.

The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) offers Waiver programs to help people with disabilities live at home or in the community. Within DCH, Community Care Services Program (CCSP) is a Medicaid waiver program that provides a range of community-based services to assist individuals who have physical disabilities.

The Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (GSNS) program provides scholarships for qualifying Georgia public school students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in specified areas during the previous school year who meet the requirements to qualify for an award. These scholarship funds may be used to offset the cost of attending a private school that participates in the scholarship program.

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are federal programs that support people with disabilities, administered by the Social Security Administration for those who meet eligibility requirements. SSI pays benefits to disabled adults and children with limited income to provide for basic needs.
