Meet this week's Staff Spotlight...Ms. Christine Faciane. 

Ms. Faciane is our Deaf Hard of Hearing/Mildly Intellectually Disabled teacher. This is a new position at our school. The position started three years ago. During her time in this role, Ms. Faciane has created the new classroom, been recognized as an Outstanding "Rock Star" Educator and an Outstanding "All Star" Educator by the CCSD district office, and was featured on the CCSD International Welcome Center's Web Story series.

Ms. Faciane works to model both the artistry of teaching and the science of teaching. When you visit her room, you will see students raising Painted Lady Butterflies, painting flower pots, baking and decorating cupcakes and cookies, and creating Earth Day collages. What you may not notice is the student achievement data she collects to guide her instructional strategies and activities. She analyzes her student achievement data to ensure she is making adjustments to the instruction she provides so that her students are better able to master the standards.
