Senior Spotlight: North Cobb's Chase Quaile

May 7, 2026 — As students across Cobb Schools prepare to walk across the stage as graduates, one senior at North Cobb High School is already soaring to new heights.

Chase Quaile has spent hours practicing flying at McCollum Airport and earned his pilot’s license during his senior year.

“When I fly, I just feel weightless. I feel like all the problems, all the stress, and everything that I have on the ground just goes away,” Chase said.

When he’s not in the sky, Chase spends most of his high school career on the baseball field and working hard in the classroom.

The North Cobb senior posted an impressive 4.65 GPA and was involved in Beta Club, the magnet program, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, DECA, Miracle Club, and is an Eagle Scout.

"As a student, I've never liked being average. I don't like settling for the average. So, I tried to take as many AP credits as I could, try to do the best I could in school," said Chase.

Chase developed his love for flying and aviation from his dad, a Delta pilot in Atlanta.

While they bonded over sports, their shared love of flying was well received when Chase brought the idea to his family a year ago.

"I think that was proudest he's ever been more than baseball, because it was something that he and I could really relate on beyond just sports and that something that we could have forever," said Chase.

As Chase prepares to graduate from Cobb Schools, he looks back at all he has accomplished with a sense of pride.

"It means a lot. I mean, I've been I've been here since I was in kindergarten, and it's almost a testament of just how attention to detail Cobb County is, that the fact that they can let me fly here, the fact that they can let me do a lot of things that probably a lot of other counties wouldn't allow," said Chase.

Chase turned down multiple Ivy League baseball scholarships and will attend Auburn University, where he plans to focus on his passion for flying and his future career.
