Friendship and Joy Fill Cobb’s Intramural Games

October 7, 2025—Smiles, laughter, and friendly competition recently filled the field at McEachern High School as Cobb Schools transition students came together for the District’s third annual Intramural Games.
"I am having the best time of my life!" That's how Pope High School student Ty described his experience.
Students, like Ty, were able to participate in games and activities that best suited their needs such as football, bowling, Frisbee, cornhole, and going on inflatables that were set up all on the football field. For many students, the day wasn’t just about winning games—it was about reconnecting with friends from other schools and celebrating together.
"My favorite part of this day was playing football with my friends," said Wheeler High School student Adam.
It's a chance for transition program students to interact, which has led to lasting friendships over the years. These Intramural Games present yet another opportunity to reunite with each other.
"My favorite part of the day was seeing my old classmates from Pope," said Pope student Advaith.
These transition programs across Cobb Schools serve special education students ages 18-22, while working on developing necessary skills to equip students for their next phase in life.
