National School Bus Safety Week: October 18–22

With safety as the top priority, Cobb Schools bus drivers travel 68,000+ miles transporting 72,000+ students to and from school each day.
October 18-12, the Cobb County School District is joining districts and schools across the nation in recognizing National School Bus Safety Week.
Before students step on the bus for their first day of kindergarten, the Cobb Schools Transportation Department teaches students to be safe bus riders. Cobb kindergartners line up at bus stops across the District ahead of the start of the school year to take a test ride on the big yellow bus with their parents. During the annual kindergarten ride-along, Cobb bus drivers go over the safety rules for students and their parents.
Drivers continue their focus on safety throughout the school year with students at all levels.
In addition to bus drivers, teachers, administrators, parents, and the students themselves, community members are also responsible for keeping Cobb students safe on the bus. Know when to stop for a school bus. Obey the law.
