Three Cobb Schools baseball teams make up the four remaining 6A teams in the state championship playoffs. Allatoona, Lassiter, and Pope are all vying for the state title with double-header games tonight and a tie-breaker tomorrow if necessary.
“Baseball in Cobb County has a great reputation across the state,” said Cobb Schools Director of Athletics Don Baker. “Year in and year out we have teams in the mix for deep runs in the playoffs, and this year is no exception. Having neighbors like Pope and Lassiter meet in the Final Four and seeing Allatoona on the other side of the bracket is extremely exciting. In a year unlike any other, these student-athletes, coaches, and athletic directors have displayed an incredible discipline to do what needed to be done to get to this point in the season, and for that, I am very grateful.”
