Lost Mountain

Middle School

Lost Mountain prepares students for high school while providing opportunities for students to explore their unique interests. Students can grow academically and find their place in a welcoming school community.

Build toward high school

Advanced classes and high school credit opportunities give qualifying students room to stretch. Options include Algebra I, Physical Science, Spanish I, and art; placement criteria apply.

Make music and connections

Band, chorus, and orchestra give students three ways to make music with classmates. Families can speak with the music department about the right starting point and course placement for their student.

Find your people

Students can explore clubs spanning art, business, culture, and academic interests. Opportunities such as Art Studio Crew and FBLA connect students through shared activities, with eligibility, schedules, and openings varying by group.

Start together

A New Student Breakfast at the beginning of each semester brings newcomers together. It gives students a chance to meet others making the same transition before finding their own place at Lost Mountain.

A Statewide Stage for Musicians

Lost Mountain’s eighth grade Symphonic Band was invited to the 2026 Georgia Music Educators Association conference, where the band premiered a commissioned work celebrating local history.

National Recognition for Music Outreach

Music for All recognized the Lost Mountain Bands with a 2025 Advocacy in Action Award in Community Involvement, celebrating the program’s connection with its community.

National Wellness Recognition

Lost Mountain was named one of America’s Healthiest Schools in 2026 for School Health Services, recognizing routine screenings and a process for connecting students with additional support.
